Anna's Piano and Vocal Studio

  The Recital is any day now! I always feel like I am the one performing when my students are up there. I guess it's because I am so invested in their performance. I want them to do well but more than that I want them to truly enjoy the moment. They have all worked so hard and this should be the pay off. Performing in front of an audience can be a hard thing.....but it is a skill that will help them in the future. If you can get up in front of 100 people and sing your heart out you can ........give a speech, go on an interview, navigate awkward social situations and more! I've noticed from teaching at a university that the students that are not use to being in front of an audience participate less and are not at all comfortable addressing the class. I feel like sometimes my younger piano students are more confident in front of a crowd then these 20 year olds..lol ! That's due to the fact they have been vulnerable as a solo musician in front of people !
